Brett Favre‘s latest dance with the devil (i.e. the Minnesota Vikings) is not sitting well with those of us who are Green Bay Packers fans.
To wit: read the recent comments of a Madison, Wisconsin, Packers fan to ESPN’s NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert:
“As a lifelong Packer fan I would never forgive Favre if he plays for the Vikings. To steal a quote from Michael Corleone, ‘Favre, you’re nothing to me now. You’re not a brother, you’re not a friend. I don’t want to know you or what you do.’
Now that’s a little over-dramatic, perhaps, but we Cheeseheads are feeling the bitter sting of betrayal, so please forgive the histrionics.
However, I have a feeling that Favre’s arm is dead, and even if his deal with the Vikings comes to fruition, there’s little to fear about a soon to be 40-year-old quarterback who sprays the ball all over the field in pressure situations.
Adios, Freezing Old Man. Get on your tractor and ride far, far away.
